Our Story

Kosen is owned and operated by master chef Toshiya Senba. At the age of 16, Senba began training in the traditional culinary arts at gourmet ryoteis in both Kyoto and Tokyo. In 1987, he opened a modest, three-room restaurant of his own in Tokyo’s Ginza area. Since moving to Minami Azabu in 1993, Kosen has become beloved of distinguished diners, from members of the Imperial Family and former prime ministers to luminaries and celebrities in nearly every professional field. After many years managing his various branches and helping to design other top tier restaurants both within Japan and abroad, Senba moved Kosen in spring 2023 to an elegant two-story house in Nishi Azabu where he can dedicate his full attention to the dining experience. The new Kosen represents the culmination of his long career as a chef and connoisseur. Expect nothing less than perfection.

おまかせ会席
8 course seasonal meal. Includes appetizers, soup, sashimi, mid-meal dish, grilled dish, simmered dish, main course, and dessert. ¥16,500.

すっぽん入り会席
6 course soft-shelled turtle meal. Includes appetizers, turtle hotpot, sashimi, grilled dish, rice porridge, and dessert. ¥11,000.

ふぐ会席(天然)
6 course wild-caught blowfish meal. Includes appetizers, blowfish sashimi, karaage fried chicken, blowfish hotpot, rice porridge, and dessert. ¥18,000.

ふぐ入り会席
6 course blowfish meal. Includes appetizers, small hotpot, blowfish sashimi, karaage fried chicken, main course, and dessert. ¥11,000.

かにしゃぶ会席
6 course crab shabushabu meal. Includes appetizers, sashimi, karaage fried crab, crab and shabushabu, rice porridge, and dessert. ¥18,000.

鯛しゃぶ/牛しゃぶ 各全5品
5 course seabream and beef shabushabu. Includes appetizers, sashimi, hotpot, rice porridge, dessert. ¥12,000.
